Established in 2011, Norfolk Rivers Trust is a charity dedicated to restoring, protecting and enhancing Norfolk’s water environments for all. Our goal is to create and maintain healthy, diverse river and wetland ecosystems that are abundant in biodiversity and resilient to a changing climate. From the food we eat to the water we drink; these environments play a crucial role in our daily lives.
Partnership is important
Norfolk Rivers Trust‘s work is grounded in evidence, scientific principles, and community feedback. Partnership is important to us. Our strong relationships with landowners, stakeholders, and communities enable us to find local and sustainable solutions for revitalising our freshwater environments.
Norfolk Rivers Trust seeks to:
- inspire stakeholders and communities through connection, engagement, and education to recognise the value of freshwater environments.
- deliver on-ground projects that provide multiple benefits for habitat and biodiversity, natural flood management, climate change resilience and freshwater supply.
- support farmers and land managers in adopting water-sensitive farming measures that benefit soil health, water quality and quantity, biodiversity and build business resilience.
- safeguard and enhance native species’ populations through reintroductions, breeding and release programmes and habitat improvement work.

Norfolk Rivers Trust has been very generous in collaborating with the GroundWork Gallery Residency since 2023. True to their word, they have encouraged partnership. Artists have really benefited from the Rivers Trust expertise and guidance and some outstanding work has been the result.
