Meet Heavy Water Collective: Saturday 7- Sunday 8 September

Meet Heavy Water Collective in person and join us all for a heritage weekend and exhibition closing events.
There will be a discussion, exhibition tour and family workshop. This will take place just after John Lord is doing us a final flint-knapping demonstration at the gallery, and all coincides with King’s Lynn’s amazing Heritage Open Day on Sunday 8 September. A very special time when there are many special events in town and lots of historic buildings open.

What is Heavy Water and why did the artists choose that name? Who are they? How did they come together? How does their Collective work?

Find out all of this and more. Join the Heavy Water Collective as they discuss themselves, their work and the research they conducted at the Sedgwick Museum of Earth Sciences, University of Cambridge for developing their work in the context of their exhibition at Groundwork Gallery.

Creating a new Heavy Water Museum: a Heritage Day: Family Workshop, 11am – 2pm

We are delighted (and so will you be) that two of the 3 artists: Victoria Lucas and Maud Haya-Baviera will be in residence over the weekend and will be present to talk and play with younger visitors and your families.
The artists say: ‘Help us to collect new specimens for our Heavy Water museum!’
You can decide what the museum is and what it should contain.
Draw, colour and collage different specimens of fossils, minerals and plants and add it to the museum display at GroundWork Gallery.
All materials will be provided.

No booking necessary for this workshop. Just drop in and join in
